Durable and dirt-repellent rug made from 100% hemp. Sumak hemp rug is 80x200cm and is perfect to use in the hallway or kitchen. The rugs are dyed with 100% natural azo-free dyes that are derived solely from plants.

The dyeing is done before the rug is woven together by hand according to ancient traditional techniques in India. The hand-woven rugs can therefore differ in both shape and colour and deviate slightly from the pictures.

Our hemp rugs are made by hand by talented craftsmen. Handwoven hemp rugs are craftmanship with a long tradition. The hemp thread comes from the bark of the fast-growing plant hemp. It is a material that is known to be dirt repellent and durable.  

Washing guidelines:

  • Vacuum regularly with care to keep clean.
  • Clean spills immediately so that they do not become set in the rug.
  • Remove spills immediately by blotting with a clean dry cloth.
  • Spot clean with cold water and mild soap.
  • Professional cleaning is recommended.

Care guidelines: 

  • Do not pull the loose ends if any. Trim with scissors.
  • Pile shredding is normal with natural fibers, this will reduce with time and usage.
  • Avoid direct & continuous exoposure to sunlight.
  • Rotate the rug regularly to avoid uneven wear and fading.
