How Kate Refreshes Her Home for Spring
Spring always feels like a quiet reset at home. As the days get longer and the light begins to change, I find myself naturally wanting to open the windows, move things around, and bring a little more life into each space. It doesn’t have to be a big transformation - often it’s just a few small seasonal shifts that make everything feel fresh again.
Here are a few of the simple ways I like to refresh my home each spring:

Making sure my plants are happy
Spring is the perfect time to give plants a little extra attention. I usually start by repotting any that have outgrown their containers and refreshing their soil. I’ll also move a few around the house to see where they might enjoy the longer daylight - sometimes a small shift in light makes all the difference.

Changing out blankets and cushions
As the weather softens, I love swapping heavier wool throws for lighter linens. It’s also a chance to introduce a few soft hints of colour—gentle yellows, dusty pinks, and warm neutrals that instantly make a room feel brighter and more relaxed.

Changing how I light the evenings
Winter is all about cozy tapers, but as spring arrives I start reaching for scented candles again. I love styling simple pillar candles in glass vessels or jars around the house—it creates a soft glow that feels effortless and calm.

Adding fresh florals every few weeks
One of my favourite little spring rituals is bringing home fresh flowers every couple of weeks. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate—just a small bundle of seasonal stems. It instantly adds life to a room and feels like a quiet reminder that the season is slowly unfolding.
