first dark ~ an equinox sound bath

everything in a room is doing something. a stearin candle holding its shape as it burns, soy burning cooler and slower, stone-washed flax getting softer for years, wood absorbing sound that plastic would throw back at you. it's how we choose everything we stock, and on the 22nd we're bringing that to you with a soundscape.

the equinox falls at 5:05 that afternoon. by seven, the dark half of the year has begun.

you lie on a mat among the shelves, under a blanket, while quartz crystal bowls, chimes, an ocean drum and a brass bowl that moves fill the room for 90 minutes. nothing is placed on your body. the light goes out of the windows behind you as we play.

you don't need to be flexible, or spiritual, or to have done anything like this before. you lie down. we play. 90 minutes later you get up feeling connected.

kate looks after the room. trishy is on the instruments.

twelve spots only — that's the whole floor. everyone goes home with a candle.

booking closes friday september 18th, or when the twelve are gone.

doors at 6:45. we close them at 7:00 sharp and can't admit latecomers, so please give yourself the extra fifteen minutes. bring a mat, blanket and pillow if you have them- tell us if you don't and we'll have some ready for you. wear something you can lie still in, and bring a layer more than you think.

spots are non-refundable within seven days of the event, but they're transferable- send a friend in your place, just let us know their name.
